She also competed with the studios first competition team winning numerous high placement and overall awards and the "Breath taking" special award.

Miss Gwen attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and majored in dance. In her first semester at the school, she was offered a professional job, but declined instead opting to focus on developing her skills as an educator - her true passion. She graduated with honors in 1999, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance.

Miss Gwen has trained with many professionals including Andre Tyson (former member of the Alvin Ailey Company), Janet Lilly (former member of the Bill T. Miss Gwen works both with the children and the training division.  Her children's classes are energetic, full of song and creativity which captivate even the most hesitant small dancer.  In the training division, Miss Gwen teaches jazz, ballet, pointe, and lyrical-modern.  She combines classical French ballet with a contemporary holistic approach, developing strong, healthy dancers who adapt well to any technique.  Her dancers are strong in all aspects of the ballet class and they remain injury free due to their holistic dance training. The same methodology follows into the intricate training of pointe dancers.  The slow, progressive building of technique is emphasized in every class.

Miss Gwen combines her modern training with the beautiful fluid movements of rhythmic gymnastics to create beauftiul, meaningful lyrical pieces.  Dancers that train with Miss Gwen have a strong connection to emotion and core movement, preparing them for success in their performing careers.

She has been recognized as the area's "best jazz teacher' because of her jazz method developed thorugh years of convention and competition experience and her personal studies of jazz theories and kinesiology. She combines this knowledge with the Horton Technique for a fully coordinated class from warm-up to combination, developing strong, articulate dancers.

If class isn’t fun to a degree, the students will be less interested to learn. ON the other hand, too much fun and not enough focus can lead to little progress. It’s all about balancing it out and having a positive attitude.”
